Guest guest
I have alrealdy mentinoned in my mail that ladies are also allowed to use rudraksha. Ma Anandamai use to wear a rudraksha mala. Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi also use to wear rudraksha mala regularly. It is said that she had very rare round one mukhi rudraksha beads in her mala gifted by the King of Nepal (Nepal Naresh). I do not understand why ladies are banned in few of the religious rituals and customs. This is only to redicule ladies. One should not follow the Manu Smriti which has denying the social rights to ladies and to lower caste people by promoting 'Chaturvarnya System'. Thanking you and with best wishes, Chandrashekhar PhadkeLG <lagan29 (AT) (DOT) co.in> wrote: dear members what are the do's and dont's one needs to follow after wearing rudraksh? can women wear rudraksh? regards lalethaa India Matrimony: Find your partner online.Go to http://.shaadi.com Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Guest guest
The rudraksha beads of your mala appears to be of Indonesian type. It is very difficult to know about the exact no. mukhi unless the image from top or bottom side is required. You yourself can count the no. of mukhis. Mukhis are the vertical clefts or ridges or lines on rudraksha starting from one end to the bottom. Five mukhi rudraksha are most common. Your mala appears to be very old and was in use by somebody since it is black in colour. Natural colour of rudraksha is generally reddish brown or rarely light yellow. This colour changes to black after continuous wearing of rudraksha mala for a longer time. To protect your rudraksha mala, clean is at least once in a week with luke warm water and with mild bathing soap with a new brush. Do not use the old used tooth brush since it is a scared object. Keep one brush permanently for rudraksha mala. After cleaning and drying thoroughly in Sun light, keep it at least for a hour in a oil. Til oil is recommended for this since it has antifungal properties to protect your beads from fungus and insect attack. Wipe out the excess oil and start using. Rudraksha mala lasts for many years if proper care is taken. You can wear this mala around the photo or idol of the Lord Dattatraya of your puja altar. However, I would advise you not to wear this mala personally after offering it to Sadguru. You can keep a seperate mala for your own use.
