Guest guest
Come on in Shiva, there's a warm welcome by Mahadev to Shiva as he enters the hall. Guruji I am so sorry that I could not present here on all these days due to heavy rains in and around Mumbai. There was a cloudburst and entire season's rain was poured on one day. For sometime we all were busy in restoring our house, afterwards everybody in the house was laid down with fever. Hoof it was hell lot of trouble said Shiva while sitting. Guruji, I read an article on "Chakras in the body" as it is not clear to me I request you to enlighten us about them, said Sundar rushing inside the hall. I read; there exists Seven Chakras having seven colures of the rainbow starting from Violet on the head, ends with Red colour of first Chakra. Sundar what you read is about "Kundalini or Chakra Sadhana" as described in Vedic verses said Mahadev. Though there are seven Chakras in the body, we often refer to six charkas leaving the top Chakra. The top chakra is considered as unique and is generally not counted with the others. It is believed that "Yoga" or "Yog Shakti" (Yogic Power) it appears as if a coiled serpent located in first chakra. It has its body turned into three and half coils, keeping its head down in the coil. When one concentrates or prays for Lord, it raises and passes through all the charkas and reaches the ultimate chakra. On its journey to the final chakra, it passes through six charkas and three "Naadis" or "Grandhis" (Nodes). It is believed that "The Kundalini" (Yogic Power) rises to the last or ultimate Chakra while one is concentrating and comes back to normalcy once "the Dhyana" is completed. Awakening of "Kundalini Shakti" means the ability to retain the "Yogic Power" at final or ultimate Chakra for all times. For achieving this goal, "Sadhak" (Practitioner) has to break the "Naadis" to make the passage through and smooth without any obstruction. With this background in mind, lets know what "chakras and naadis" mean. 1)"MOOLADHARA": Is the first chakra, It is located in the region of Triangular Bone of the spinal Chord. (Below the genital and above the Ass hole). The beejakshar for its meditation is "Lum" Colour of this chakra as per Vedic verses is Smoke gray. This chakra is responsible for giving strength to the bones of the body. The "Tatwa" (Element) of this chakra is "Pridhvi" (Earth). Since it is a starting Chakra, the derived benefits were not described in Vedic verses. 2)"SWADISHTHANA": It is the second Chakra in serial order and is located at pubic area. The beejakshar for its meditation is "Vum" Colour of this chakra as per Vedic verses is Yellow. This chakra is responsible for giving strength to the mind. The "Tatwa" (Element) of this chakra is "Jal" (Water), the derived benefits of this chakra as described in Vedic verses is Power of Memory. 3)"MANIPOORA"It is the third Chakra in serial order and is located at the region of stomach. The beejakshar for its meditation is "Rum" Colour of this chakra as per Vedic verse is Blood Red. This chakra is responsible for giving strength to the muscles of the body. The "Tatwa" (Element) of this chakra is "Agni" (Fire), the derived benefits of this chakra as described in Vedic verses is Analytical power. 4)"ANAHATA": It is the fourth Chakra in serial order and is located at heart area. The beejakshar for its meditation is "Yum" Colour of this chakra as per Vedic verse is Dark Blue (often referred to black). This chakra is responsible for giving strength to the blood. The "Tatwa" (Element) of this chakra is "Vayu" (Air), the derived benefits of this chakra as described in Vedic verse is wisdom. 5)"VISHUDDHI" It is the fifth Chakra in serial order and is located at throat area. The beejakshar for its meditation is "Hum" Colour of this chakra as per Vedic verse is Blood Red. This chakra is responsible for the health of the skin. The "Tatwa" (Element) of this chakra is "Space" (AAKASH), the derived benefits of this chakra as described in Vedic verse is intelligence. 6)"AAGNYA" It is the sixth Chakra in serial order and is located in between the two eyebrows. The beejakshar for its meditation is "Aum" (Some scholars are of the opinion that there is no Beeja for this chakra) Colour of this chakra as per Vedic verses is White. This chakra is responsible for giving strength to the bone marrow. The "Tatwa" (Element) of this chakra is "Mun" (Mind), the derived benefits of this chakra as described in Vedic verse is Name and fame. 7)"SAHASRARA": It is the final or ultimate Chakra in serial order and is located below the "Brahma Rundra" (Just below the point where sutures of the skull joins). There is no beejakshar for its meditation as it is the ultimate goal. All colours belong to this chakra. This chakra is responsible for giving strength to "Shukla" (Sperm). There is no "Tatwa" (Element) for this chakra. The derived benefit of this chakra as described in Vedic verse is "Sanvith Gnyan" (Knowledge beyond the human reach). There are three "Naadis" Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra, which are located between "SWADISHTHANA" and "MANIPOORA"; "ANAHATA" and "VISHUDDHI"; "AAGNYA" and "SAHASRARA" respectively. It is believed that the normal size of each chakra is one and half inch in diameter and would increase with the power of meditation. It is also believed that the meditation shall start from throat chakra to Mooladhara and then from Aagnya to Shasrara but not from Mooladhra to Sahasrara. It is time to depart and we shall discuss another subject when we meet for the next time said Mahadev as a departing signal. ***
