Guest guest
When we delve into the history of ayurveda we finf references that the ayurveda practised today is only a fraction of what it was in its hey days. The reference texts available today are also a fraction of what was available before. Even among humans there were 8 different disciplines but on oral medicine remains in practise today. There are attempts to revive the surgical and other parts but they are almost out of practise. Under these circumstances ayurveda for creatures other than humans is very out of practise today. Though there are a few people who can use ayurveda to treat animals (especially the domesticated ones), it is not very common. Just for the record there are references of ashwa- ayurveda (ayurveda for horses), hasti-ayurveda (ayurveda for elephants) & Vruksha-ayurveda (ayurveda for plants - texts on this have been recently reprinted). Guest guest
There is a gifted Vaidya at the Ashram of Amma (Amritanandamayima) in Kerala who cares for the cows in the Ashram. The milk, ghee, and curd from these cows are the food offered to Amma. He can probably be contacted through the information office of the Ashram.
