I have a suggestion in orderto make the group more useful.

For that it will be nice to discuss about the ayurvedic and modern aspects of a

disease along with its tratment and if single remedy present that too. One

disease can be studied in one week and the doubts also can be cleared.

The disease can be decided by the moderator.

please think over the suggestion. This will be helpful for increasing

your knowledge, clearing the doubts and also helpful for ayurvedic

students like me.

moderator comment please

I think it is a nice idea....we already have many learned people in

the group and their contribution will be very valuable.

In theory it would be great - but I get the impression that Ayurveda is like

homeopathy in that there is more to it than the medicine - you cannot eliminate

the patient practitioner bond and the transfer of healing energy exists in more

than just the remedies or herbs used?

Ancient Ayurved knowledge on the mode of modern

medical science is a progress of our field. Many

diseases and thoughts are been much co-related with

medical terms. For the degree of M. D. and Ph. D. In

Ayurved scholar has to do conceptual collection on the

selected topic as Ayurved, modern and others.

More then hundred of thesises with full informations

are available on www.asthahealthcare.com for specific

need and choice, send mail to

I guess even the patient is a propogator of the system of

medicine

.......like....

few months back I was down with fever.....

I have allopathy docs in family as also few MD friends......

each one of them said it is a viral infection and I need

allopathy to treat it, as only allopathy has

developed medicines against opportunistic infections......

my Vaidya doesnt

like even the mention of virus.....

he said.......there was excess aam in the

body and it will take time to regain the balance.......

as usual I decided to trust my Vaidya while the entire family was worried.......

allopathy could have

brought a rapid turnaround while ayurveda treatment took more than 15 days to

show results....

in the meantime everyone in the family was concerned as

to what will happen to me.........

I guess if I had knowledge about what the

problem according to allopathy was and what was the interpretation of my Vaidya

I would have been in a better position to explain it to my

family........

many a times lack of knowledge causes anxiety....so some

knowledge about diseases, their symptoms and interpretation according to

allopathy and ayurveda will be helpful for the patients in particular and for

Ayurveda in general.

Oh yes - generalities for sure - what puzzles me is that there is still no

allopathic treatment for viral infections - I wonder how they were going to

treat you - symptomatically? or the usual is anti-biotics in case there are

bacterial complications!

Dear Riyaz,

That indeed is a good sugestion. However if you go through over the

6000+ messages posted already, you will find that the moderators have

many times tried to implement such an idea with very limited sucess.

Most people either do not have the time nor the inclination to post

information for free. We have to be thankful for those that do. I

think one of the reason for that might be the format of the group

feature. We have discussed many diseases and yet we have messages

asking information on the same subject. People do not have time to go

through over what is already posted. Not even time to do a little

search. One solution fo that would be to collect this information in a

website. Although I am working on it, I too have limited time and

resources. Many of the group members have offered thier time and

services. Lets see how that works out. Meanwhile another solution

would be the pbwiki format. We could create pages for various diseases

or topic and that people could add information in it. One benefit

would be all the information would be available at one place and at

the same time we could have many people working on it at the same

time. Members please do let me know your views on this.

Cybervaidya,

Your suggestion of wikipedia sounds good. I agree that many question and thus

many answers tend to be repetitive. Would we post directly to wikipedia? Would

you please explain it a little more? I have never posted to wikipedia. I have

acquired info there a handful of times.
