Guest guest
Hi. I have been involved with Ayurveda (on a layman's basis) for fifteen years in the US. There aren't too many places to go that I know of. Dr. Vasant Lad is excellent--he's in Albuquerque. He's written several books. He would be my first choice in the US. He has a website--it's the Ayurvedic Institute. I'm sure the prices he charges are nothing compared to the Raj. I would think there should be something in Chicago. There are places in California. If money is no object and you are in a hurry to get started The Raj might be the place to start. This is headquartered with the Mahareshi Ayurveda group. They are reputable and they have it all right there. I believe Nancy Lonsdorf is the medical director. She is an American trained (Stanford) psychiatrist. You might feel more comfortable with an MD. (Formerly, I was like that). I saw her when she was in the Washington DC area. However, I think their prices are way out of line. This group is expensive and so are their supplements. There is no question that Ayurveda can help you. And this bb is a good place to learn. You won't get any better going to the Mayo Clinic. I've made the rounds. Ayurveda heals the body--western medicine holds people together with band-aids (drugs). Good luck, Katy
Guest guest
I would like to receive your detailed case history before I can advise cure in ayurveda. more_or <no_reply> wrote: I live in Illinois and have multiple health problems that are currently being treated with prescription drugs. I have always eaten well but not a vegetarian diet. <SNIP> I would like recommendations as to what should I do next. The Raj cost almost $700 a day and includes evaluation, therapies, diet and yoga, it will offer meditation courses for over $2000.00 extra. I have considered a weekend visit (most stays are from 3 to 21 days) where you receive the evaluation for $185.00 and you get diet, etc. recommendations. Does anyone know anything about the Raj? Is it something you might recommend?
Guest guest
I under stand your situation. You deserve help , indeed. Whenever you wish to consult a physician you have to look for the qualification. He must have a degree from any authorised universities. As far as Ayurveda is considered lot of physician are practicing world wide does not have approved qualification from Indian Universities. Another thing , you have to look is regarding the profile of the physician. The history of practice should be well analysed. If both these criteria are satisfactory you can think for a consultation DR.Rejith more_or <no_reply> wrote: <SNIP> Please help as I an currently on 15 pills a day some as repeat doses. I have been frequently hospitalize in the past two years and it has been recommended that I visit the Mayo Clinic and I feel if I do I will only have more medicine to take I would prefer an Ayurvedic alternative.
