Guest guest
Dear All, I am making a TV series on Ayurveda. Based in Mumbai. This series will have 4 episodes per week. The aim is to give a comprehensive coverage to Ayurveda, both theoretical and applied aspects. And in 'as it is' form. Without any corruption, the knowledge given by the ancient Seers must be passed on. We are working on since a few months and many leading experts from Mumbai, Delhi, Haridwar and Rishikesh have helped us. We have also shot extensively in the Himalays. The series is being produced by Sattelite TV channel on healthcare. I appeal to all of u to help us with interesting topics and materials. And, if there is something worthwhile happening in ur area, on Ayurveda,do let me know. We might come with our crew for shooting. Any research, some old knowledgeable Vaidya, some mystic Vaidya/ Saint or anything like it !! Plus, I am looking for 1/2 script -writers in Hindi who can do some research also. Someone who knows a little Ayurveda or is familiar with Indian spirituality will be an ideal candidate. He or she must be based in Mumbai. E-mail to me on : yashendra2 <yashendra2 or call: 09324181981. Thanks Yashendra

Guest guest
Dear Yashendra, First of all a word of appreciation that you have decided to make a TV serial on "ayurveda". You certainly have generated a lot of interest as is evident from the responses to your message. However from you post I get a feeling that you are looking for something dramatic. That is to be expected since this is an entertainment medium. However I do hope that your serial does not project ayurveda as some other entertainment medium have potrayed India, as a land where tigers and elephant roam freely on the roads or where the entire population lives in abject poverty. It has taken a lot of work to wipe of that image. So do not search for "old knowledgeable Vaidya, some mystic Vaidya/ Saint or anything like it" Referring to only the 3 terms you have mentioned, young vaidyas today are also knowledgable, so search for knowledgable vaidyas and there is no need to be a "mystic" or a "saint" (?) to do "something worthwhile". As for the third what all comes in "anything like it" :- > Go to the ayurvedic colleges, visit the many ayurvedic organisations active in various states in India (I do hope your search is not limited to Mumbai) and you will get lots of material to make the serial for many more years to come. Present the progressive face of ayurveda. Where ayurveda is practised succesfully both theoretically and practically. Do not be taken in by the mystic and the exotic which is passed of in the name of ayurveda. I do hope you take this message in the right spirit. And yes do mention this group in your serial whenever you telecast an episode related to ayurveda and the internet ;-> Cybervaidya > I am making a TV series on Ayurveda. Based in Mumbai. Any research, some old knowledgeable Vaidya, some mystic > Vaidya/ Saint or anything like it !!
Guest guest
Dear Dr. Modi, A million apologies for the unintentional oversight. Actually, my mail box gets flooded with so many e-mails that I end up missing a few of them. Still, please accept my sincere apologies. Your offer of help is indeed highly useful for us. After telecast begins in India we do intend to prepare the Englsih version for telecast/use in othe countries. I welcome all inputs from u. I will also check ur website now and will send u another mail soon. Right now, our first aim is to prepare the first batch of 32 episodes so that we can start the telecast. I posted the appeal for help again as I got very few response on the 1st time. Thanking you again, Yashendra, Mumbai > i have replied to you long time back, last time also u have sent same email and i/we have offered u a help, u didnt even bother to reply and top of that u r again asking for help

Guest guest
Dear Jane, 7-Star CARE Tv has got a Global Beam and is a sattelite channel. Its available in Australia as well. However, for the time being, the telecast is in Hindi language. After we begin the telecast, soon we will launch the Englsih version. We will also try to get it aired on TV channels of othe countries, including Australia. We may also think about marketing CDs/DVDs. Thanks Yashendra, Mumbai, India > Yes we have to be able to have CDs or Videos of it - for those of us who are not living in India!! (Please!) Guest guest
Dear Cybervaidya, I agree 100% with u. I am already in collaboration with Ayurvedic colleges. We have shot extensively with Gurukul Kangri & Rishikul Ayurvedic colleges of haridwar. Benaras Hindu University is next on the line. Mittal college Mumbai is also helping us. So the Ayurveda Congress of India, headed by Vaid Devendra Triguna. Dr. Mayaram Uniyal, Padmshri Suresh Chaturvedi, Vaid tarachand Sharma, Dr. Dinesh Chauhan and Vaid Channaji are some of the few names we have shot with. And taken help. My intention with the word "mystic" was something different. By this, I mean the spiritual base of Ayurveda. Ayurveda goes beyond the material word in which the modern medicine, popularly known as allopathy, limited. The awakening of consciousness is essential if one has to understand real dynamics of AYurveda. Thats why the technology of Yogic-sadhna is so important. I intend NOT to leave this crucial aspect while exploring Ayurveda. The "mystic" term is a layman-ish language term becoz there is nothing mystic in Ayurveda. For example, invocation of the plant-deity before plucking its leaves is perfect science. But laymen call it mystic as this science is beyond the understanding of modern western science. It goes on to include the subtler layers of existence, much more fine that matter and sub-atomic layers whcih quantum physicists have discovered...... Other examples are the concepts of Soul, rebirth and search of the cause of diseases as the result of past life thoughts and actions. We want to explore all, without confining our perceptive faculties to the modern western science. I am extremely happy that u have raised this topic inthis august forum. Looking fwd for more & more beneficial discussions, Yashendra, Mumbai Cybervaidya <cybervaidya wrote: Dear Yashendra, First of all a word of appreciation that you have decided to make a TV serial on "ayurveda". ............ Guest guest
Dear Yashendra, I am sure you would know this, but would like to caution against some people trying to use your program as a means of implicit advertisement for them. There are so many people claiming ayurveda, but hardly know anything about its principles or virtue of being a vaidya, only aim being to make money out of patients. I live in US and I have seen myself some doctors like that, these people come up with followers of some lineage of Ayurveda nobody knows and nobody can disprove. Please be careful in figuring whether the people you talk to are doctors or capitalists. My words may sound harsh, but I am telling out of personal experience. I don't mean to brand all doctors like that, not at all. thank you, venkat ayurveda, Yashendra Prasad <yashendra2 wrote: I am already in collaboration with Ayurvedic colleges. Guest guest
Dear Venkat, I know that. The only caution I can take, and am taking, is that I do not allow anything which I feel is against the principles of Ayurveda. Due to commercial reasons my producers (the channel) actually invite implicit advertisement from 'capitalist' doctors. They pay to get coverage. Its beyond my control. The only thing I do is to not allow them to air anything which is Against the spirit of Ayurveda. I wish I could make the series by raising the money independently. Maybe in future.Till then, I cant expect an ideal environment. Money dictates the channels.
