Today (March 15, 2006) India celebrates the festival of Holi. It is

popularly known as the festival of colours as the celebration includes

dousing your friends and relatives with colours of various hues. But

it also is a festival which resembles the panchakarma treatment of

ayurveda. I know I am streching this by a large extent, but just as

panchakarma purges out the doshas of the body which if they remain

accumulated will lead to diseases, the main celebration of holi

consists of burning a bonfire. This bonfire is the symbol of all evil

and pent up doshas of your mind and on this day you remove all the

fear, anger and other mental doshas you may have towards other and

burn it in the form of a bonfire. Ofcourse the offside of this is that

many people take this as a liberty to abuse others.

Wishing all group members a Happy Holi.
