Guest guest
Anxiety and fear are both products of the mind and social/cultural imprints. The strongest/best way known to counter Anxiety and fear are by increasing your awareness of what it is that causing anxiety, meditating on solutions and practicing relaxation. Mental patterns are formed like any patterns: by repetition. Fear is a rooted problem that is imprinted in us at a young age by all our well-wishers and not-so-well-wishers. Eg: parents don't want us to fail so they imprint their fear of failure by urging us to succeed and never letting us deal with failure. Friends will imprint their fears of wanting to wear clothes they like, or drive new cars and so we always have a fear of being looked down upon. The only true way to deal with these types of patterns is.... to deal with them. Instead of chosing to live with the fear, face it... accept the fear, don't fight it. Once you accept you can observe it, say "ah there you are", this way the fear becomes a friend and eventually you let it go saying "you are there but i don't need to pay attention to you" But you can only let go when you've dealt with the fear itself: either be comfortable with the situation, which means you have to understand and accept it.. and then chose to do something about it.. even if you choose to do nothing you've made a choice. Recognize that. As you start dealing with your sources of fear, and be proactive about those solutions you'll see in time your fear goes away. Something that's more latent eg: fear of heights and fear of water, etc are a little harder to deal with. And you've to take little steps do dealing with those. But until you choose to accept and deal with the fear and decide that either its so important that you get rid of it, or not at all important where it doesn't matter, that fear will persist. As you go through this exercise of accepting and letting go of the fears, you'll also be more aware of what it is you really want and your patterns of living will shift. This again may inspire more fear and require you to pay more attention to what it is that you are dealing with, but in time you'll be more accepting, quieter inside and very relaxed. Hope this helps, if there's something much more specific/urgent you are looking for, feel free to post details to the group. As such, for things like fear, there maybe a few relaxing herbs as well that relax the mind and allow the braing to start thinking .. like shatavari, shankhpushpi, but I'll let others better qualified than me to take that subject.
