new member... and stammering/stuttering?

hello...

i have been interested in ayur veda for over 10 years... first being

introduced to it by Deepak Chopras book PERFECT HEALTH... then

studying

different authors over the years... i am 'familiar' w/ the subject...

but admittedly by far no expert...

i am a pitta body type

and vedically speaking... have sun/saturn/mercury in 6th house in

aries... (scorpio lagna... mars/venus 7th... sag moon2... jupiter12)

i have heard that merc when combined w/ sun can indicate 'stammering'

and its interesting that as a child i never had any problems w/

communication whatsoever... i was an academically competitive child

and

never had any 'retarded' progress whatsoever growing up...

but then in my late teens/early adulthood...

have developed a 'stammer'... but its not all the time... only on

occasion... and it gets to where i cannot even pronounce certain

syllables...

i have noticed that the problem seems to get worse when i consume

carbohydrates... especially anything w/ sugar in it... which i have

eliminated completely out of my diet... eating primarily hi protein

and

low starch veges...

in my opinon

i believe the problem MUST BE related to the endocrine system and

directly to the ADRENAL GLANDS... 'hormonal' imbalance... perhaps

magnified by/when consuming high starch/sugary foods

can anyone offer any advice or vedic remedies that perhaps might help

w/ a 'stammering' / stuttering condition???

in a limited search i saw that

VACALA ACORUS CALAMUS

root was recommended for stammering...

although i havent tried any herbal preparation

i have tried to do all i can to balance out vata... i eat ginger root

on a regular basis (cooking it in w/ my morning omelettes and putting

it in my soups and salads)... i also wonder if the condition might be

related to an aggravated pitta condition... being that it seems the

problem perhaps gets worse when also eating hot/spicey foods.

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

regards

J

Picked interest in your case since you mentioned your chart.

Calculated that your birth date is 24th or 25th April 1970. It would

help if you can either give your birthstar (Moola/Purvashadha or

Uttarashadha) and exact quarter of star in which moon was at birth

time. alternatively you can give exact date, time and place or

Longitude/Lattitude of place. Later data will also help fix your

Navamsa chart, which is very important here.

Medical part of astrology has assigned one herb (tree) for each birth

star. Taking the decoction of its roots/bark, swaras (Juice) of the

leaves, or even smelling the flowers of that tree helps the person.

Astrology principles are so rich, that many of generic ideas of

ayurveda may have been born with astrology as base. Hence astrology

is treated elder sister and naturopathy mother of ayurveda.

Dear J

I wanted to send a personal mail, but I could not grab your email address and

therefore writing this mail publicly. I hope moderators will 'pass' it for the

the reason stated.

You chart has some combinations that point to speech problems and they are hard

aspects of Mercury with Uranus and Neptune. Since mercury represents expression

and Uranus represents disruption and Neptune weakens whatever it comes in

contact with...

Apart from that you chart has wide conjunction of Sun and Saturn which

indicates low-vitality...

I hope this clarifies...

hello Rajeev Upadhye and group...

Rajeev thank you for the consideration and for the outlined points...

its interesting that you point out re sun/saturn=weakened

constitution... and i can vouche for this in my life as an adult...

but as a child i was very healthy... never had any health problems

and very rarely ever ill... i would say very sturdy/healthy as child.

but then as an adult...

i think that i have thrown my body way out of balance thru my

lifestyle... overconsumption of sugar (teens/twentys), overeating big

time ETC ETC ETC... so although i can see how this sun/saturn aspect

has resulted in my having a 'weakened'(and/or sensitive) vitality...

i wouldnt say i was 'born' w/ it.

thanks again for the consideration.

regards,

J

My belief on this is as follows,

Charts are like genetics, they indicate the existence of certain

characteristics that "could" be part of the person, but those are only

activated by lifestyle, environment and other such influences. While it is

possible to control some of these, it may not be always possible to keep them

subdued and so these will show through.

Having the genetic structure or stars in a certain position on your chart

does not mean for 100% sure that those events/characteristics will flourish.

Is it at all possible to know what the controllable and uncontrollable aspects

are?

Well here I will take help of Patanjali - once mind is controlled everything is

controlled, mind is controlled when breath is controlled.

Astrologically, mind is represented by Moon and "easy" aspects (nineth harmonic

series) indicate whether mind is control or not. Generally trines and sextiles

indicate a "good mind"...but again there are "ifs and buts"...
