Guest guest
I'll take up the last line of this message as an opening to a query I've long with-held. With the availability of so many different types of Chywanprash, how do you determine what is good and what isn't? Are the ingredient combinations just added/eliminated in the various varities to appeal to the tastes of the various audiences? apparently this is the case, or does anyone check if these ingredients are correctly applied as well.. maybe we can take 3 or 4 commercially available varities for analysis? - Dabur (most easily accessible, made the chywanprash popular) - Baidyanath - Zandu (less easily available) - BAPS (the one by Swami Narayan Temples/Shayona Brand) - Shirish Bhate <shirishbhate wrote: Since so many varieties of Chyvan Prash are available these days with so many additions, difficult to comment on Chyvanprash. Guest guest
Hi p s, Good question! In my experience, you can determine the quality from the immediate perceived experience of taking it. Ideally, you should literally feel its lifeforce circulating inside you, that is the true meaning of rasayana. Unless you have a lot of ama in your system, a CP with potency will let you know right away. However, there are only two authentic recipes of CP are given by the ayurvedic texts, the oldest (and original) being from the Charaka Samhita and the other from the Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita. The formulas and their preparation are slightly different from each other. I have used both from different reputed pharmacies with different result. I prefer the CS recipe, its seems to have a more broad rasayana effect, while the initial effect of the AHS recipe seems more localized to the respiratory system. The explanation for the many "varieties" of CP being offered today has many different causes. I suggest you read the following: http://niam.com/corp-web/cprash.htm The authentic CP offered by NIAM comes from a family run pharmacy in Uttar Pradesh specializing in authentic CP manufacturing. It was located many years ago by Dr. Scott Gerson, the founder of NIAM. I have not experienced any other CP which matches its amazing potency and effects. Please try it once and you will leave the rest behind. I guess this is as good as it gets in Kali Yuga.
