Guest guest
Comment about fats and breastmilk: Your conversion of the mother form of Omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid to the EPA/DHA derivatives and Omega-6 linoleic-acid to GLA/DHGLA/ARA derivatives may not be sufficient due to a block of the enzyme activity due to the presence of transfats or lack of vitamin/mineral co-factors . Your breastmilk could also be contaminated with environmental toxins. You have to remove transfats, otherwise the falx will not work, but still it will take time to reach the needed saturation point. If you want to supply your baby fast with lacking fats, it is better to take a supplement with the needed EFA derivatives. If you are adamant about avoiding fish oils, the only alternative is an ARA/DHA vegetarian originated algae source ( DHASCO® and ARASCO® ), manufactured by Martek BioSciences. These are available in infant formulas and dietary formulas. http://www.dhadepot.com/ mypappuslaya <no_reply> wrote: Was reading your post regarding your answer on Eczema/Ashtma. My 6 month old girl has been having eczema and some breathing problems last 4 months. She is totally breast fed till now. What amount of FLAX see oil in my diet will help my baby and how soon can I see if it is working? I am a vegetarian and so I do not want the fish oil. She is also allergic to nuts. I have eliminated nuts totally from my diet. She is a little better but still keeps scratching herself and breaks out in rashes. She is not allergic to milk/soy/wheat.
