Dear GB

All eat ripe mango only and throw away skin. When skin of magno is

always used during pickles of green mango, why they throw away skin

when mango ripens? with this thought, this author always eats ripe

mango with skin, no problems what-so-ever arising. The phytonutrients

in skin perhaps make mango easily digestible, if one is careful to

chew the skin fully. The seed of mango is used as a component of

medicine for diabetes. Mango leaves juice is also used as a medicine

for diabetes. Since father had diabetes discovered at age 75, based

on this logic, author always eats ripe mango with skin. 12 hour

fasting blood sugar never exceeded 80, even during mango season.

Philosophy of this author is that wherever skins are thin and

chewable, do not throw away any piece of skin, if eating raw. If 5

minutes pressure cooking can make skin chewable, do not remove. Skin

of all fruits contains certain essential nutrients. Perhaps supreme

power never thought that we will invent peeling tools, juicing

tools/blenders etc. Even if raw skins/juices do not digest fully and

come out in stools, they too have a role to play in our nutrition.

These days there is so much propoganda that CAD patients eat fibres.

Super power has already provided fibres in right proportion in all

foods. If one eats with the fibre, chewing has to be more, to see

that fibre is brought to a fine size. Sometimes we just suck juice

and throw away fibre, e.g. sugar cane. When consumed this way,

acceptable for diabetics too. Whereever possible, avoid blender,

juicer and eat raw fruit directly till fibre is fine size to enable

gulping down. Blood sugar rises so slowly, and along with minerals in

the juice, diabetics have no trouble.

instances when the pulp is not eaten?
