Guest guest
Dear Saurabhrsvgs, I appreciate the other comments that have already been made on this subject, and I will just offer some general information. First, if you are getting headaches repeatedly, better look for the underlying cause rather than just quick relief. Here are some general doshic tendencies and recommendations, and you'll want to adopt balancing diet, eating habits, and routines accordingly: 1) Kapha: sinus headaches due to excess mucous. Try ginger paste applied to the forehead and sinuses for quick relief. Alternately, a little snort of calamus (vacha) into the sinuses can break up congestion. Internally, trikatu with honey can be taken. 2) Pitta: temporal headaches due to excess heat. Use sandalwood or peppermint oil on the temples. Avipattikar is a good for relieving heat in the digestion. There are also many formulas made of bitter herbs that will relieve heat in the blood and liver (i.e. mahasudarshan). 3) Vata: occipital headaches due to toxins in the colon / constipation. Use ginger paste behind the ears and take a laxative such as psyllium or triphala. If you don't have a source for these herbs, check out Bazaar of India. There herbs are organic and non-heavy metal tested: http://www.affmanager.com/bazaarofindia/aff_manager/newaff/redirect.cfm/i/20 05100310/LinkID/7 Best Wishes, Jacob Griscom, CAS Teaching Faculty: California College of Ayurveda Peaceful Living Holistic Healthcare Center 200 Providence Mine Rd.
