Guest guest
Dear Rajeev ji, Namaste. Not being an ayurved I cannot comment on "kajjali". But I can offer some explanation regarding the other three points you have raised. 1. Documentation. ------------- This is, in fact, already being done on a very large scale with AYUSH, Ministry of Health, taking the initiative. Earlier due to lack of Govt sympathy and non-allocation of funds this was not possible. 2. De-mystification. ---------------- Ayurveda like all other alternative systems, is mystical. This is because the subject, "Man", is a mystic. As pointed out in an earlier post ayurveda comprises energy healing, astrology, gemology, mantra chikitsa etc. These methods cannot be studied by materialistic science. Much of it depends upon faith. Faith has always been questioned by science. But only the day before yesterday a leading medical journal has come out with a startling revealation that patients who have faith in their doctors are more liable to heal faster and effectively so. 3. Standardization. --------------- Man is not an assembly line product. Thus medicine to heal him will also have to be individualistic. It is foolishness to talk of standardisation while talking of man. Every person, even if suffering from the same "named" condition, may require different medicines in different doses. Thus if ayurveda adopts the method of standardisation then it will also flop the way modern medicine has. You must understand that ayurveda and all other alternative systems differ from modern medicine not only in the choice of the medicine but also in the method. The alternative methods are not against science but against its misuse and misinterpretation.
