Dear friends,

I am addressing you all after quite sometime. I have been busy setting up an

organic Ayurvedic herb garden, nursery and farm in 20 acres near Mumbai. The

development work will continue for a long time. We now have over 100 herbs

in the nursery and seed stock. The farm has undergone audit for

certification as 'organic' under the Indian, US and EU standards and we

expect the certification in December.

We have also created a camp facility where we bring in school children in

the age group of 11-18 to expose them to organic farming and use of herbs in

daily life and health management. We believe this is an impressionable age

and their exposure at this stage will have a significant impact on their

future beliefs and practices. Schools from Mumbai have taken to the camps

quite enthusiastically. We have had two camps in the last two months and the

next batch from Ecole Mondiale is arriving on December 1, 2005.

We also propose to set up a center where participants will undergo the daily

routines for healty life suggested in the classical texts of Ayurveda. All

herbal material required for this will be from the farm itself. We solicit

assistance and participation from Vaidyas, students of Ayurveda and all

those who have Ayurveda at their heart. While those located in or near

Mumbai will find it more convenient, we encourage others too to visit and

participate. Development of a pioneering institution is a continuous process

and can be better achieved by collective efforts and contributions. We

invite all those intersted in propogation and promotion of organic Ayurvedic

herbs to visit the garden, nursery and farm. All members of this forum will

be provided free access to the farm and the free herbs for non-commercial

uses.
