Guest guest
Dear Khalsaji, Namaste. Thanks a million for the information you have provided. I was not aware that the neck lock meant pulling back the head. I thought it was pulling the head down so that the chin touched the chest. Thank you for clarifying. The value of your post will increase manifold if you kindly give the benefits of the individual bandhs. What regime of yoga (asana, pranayama and bandha) would you suggest for depression? Thanks in advance, Jagannath. Ps: I think ayurveda, Guru Khalsa <greatyoga> wrote: > Neck lock: pull the chin straight back towards the > spine. Guest guest
I believe you may have a misunderstanding, i don't think Khalsaji said that you have to pull the head back, you have to pull the neck in to the spine.. towards the neck.. down! often people will rotate the chin so it extends the neck down and chin goes to chest.. the way to do this is to sit straight, neck straight up and then drop the chin, thereby bending the neck the least and not rotating it down.. the chin should be pressing into the throat almost, but a bit lower..... hope this makes it clearer --- jagchat01 <jagchat01 wrote: > > Dear Khalsaji, > > Namaste. Guest guest
This is a good explanation. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "rotate". The neck does not rotate up or down, simply back. You can take a book and place it between your neck and your chin. Keep the book there by pulling the chin back towards the spine. gb Khalsa ayurveda, p s <tightbrwn76> wrote: > > often people will rotate the chin so it extends the > neck down and chin goes to chest.. the way to do this > is to sit straight, neck straight up and then drop the > chin, thereby bending the neck the least and not > rotating it down.. the chin should be pressing into > the throat almost, but a bit lower..... hope this > makes it clearer
