Guest guest
Dear Marilyn, Thanks a lot.Another medicine was suggested during a TV discussion. This was Guduchi (Tinosporia Cordifolia). The advice was that it is to be powdered, mixed with honey and stored for some time in a sack of grain within an earthen pot. This programme interviewed an AIDS patient being treated at an ayurvedic clinic. The patient had directly come to the clinic after being diagnosed and was feeling better after 25 days of treatment. The doctors said he would have to be treated for some more months. Surely all this is a lot of hope for those who would prefer to be gently and genuinely cured. As Dr Bhate said, we must make it widely known that ayurveda is equipped with an wide array of remedies to treat any disorder. AIDS is a multifaceted disorder and will vary from person to person. The major symptoms may be; "(1) drastic loss of weight (2) fatigue and lethargy (3) susceptibility to allergies and contagious diseases (4) skin irritations (5) bronchial disorders, often leading to tuberculosis of the lungs (6) damage to intestinal flora resulting in diarrhoea, dysentery, gastritis and (7) wide fluctuations in body temperature." There is also a loss of desire to live as pointed out by noted vaidya Kaviraj Acharya Sri Narayan Shastri. "Ayurvedic practitioner Dr G. Shanthakumar, based in Mumbai, India, claims that ayurveda identified AIDS over 2,000 years ago. The ancient malady was termed RAJAYAKSHMA (the king of diseases) and its symptoms were identical to AIDS going by the descriptions of Vagbhata in Ashtanga Hridayam (Chikitsitam section) and its supplementary text, the Ashtanga Sangraham, as well as in another ayurvedic classic, Charaka Samhita (Nidanam section)." All this is from a very good link to an article on "Ayurveda and AIDS". http://www.lifepositive.com/Body/body-holistic/AIDS/aids-drugs.asp To bolster your post: Andrographis Paniculata (Kalmegh). ----------------- A. paniculata is used as a wonder drug in traditional Siddha and Ayurvedic systems of medicine as well as in tribal medicine in India and some other countries for multiple clinical applications. The therapeutic value of Kalmegh is due to its mechanism of action which is perhaps by enzyme induction. The plant extract exhibits antityphoid and antifungal activities. Kalmegh is also reported to possess antihepatotoxic, antibiotic, antimalarial, antihepatitic, antithrombogenic, antiinflammatory, antisnakevenom, and antipyretic properties to mention a few, besides its general use as an immunostimulant agent (see Pharmacology). A recent study conducted at Bastyr University, USA confirms anti-HIV activity of andrographolide. http://www.geocities.com/andrographis/pharmacology.htm http://www.geocities.com/andrographis/botany.htm Tinosporia Cordifolia (Guduchi). ---------- This herb is used in seminal weakness and urinary affections. It is also a valuable tonic. Other applications of this herb include: fever, gout, jaundice, torpidity of the liver, skin diseases, secondary syphilis, rheumatism, constipation, tuberculosis, and leprosy. It is a blood purifier and may be useful in AIDS and other immune diseases also. It is also being proposed for cancer patients before and after chemotherapy. http://holisticonline.com//Herbal-Med/_Herbs/h150.htm Asparagus Racemosa (Shatavari) --------------- For men it is a nutritive tonic similar to ginseng, and an aphrodisiac which increases erection strength and sperm count and decreases spermatorrhea. Because Shatawari is a gentle herb which regulates growth, is a systemic tonic, and is calming, it is considered, along with Ashwagandha and Brahmi, to be excellent for children. It is also recommended for seniors because it soothes the systemic dryness which is part of the natural aging process. For post-menopausal women it is especially good when taken with a cup of saffron milk. It has a strong rejuvenating, nurturing, and stabilizing effect on excessive air, gas, dryness and agitation in the body and mind. As such it is traditionally used for nervousness, anorexia, insomnia, hyperactive children, and people who are underweight. Due to its cooling nature it is used for genital herpes, chronic low grade fever, chronic skin disease, hemorrhoids, hyperactivity, stomach ulcers, chronic hepatitis, gonorrhea, and to cool and purify the blood. This wonderful plant is so useful that is considered in Ayurveda to be the Compassionate queen of herbs. Chavanaprash -------------------- This is also suggested by many ayurveds on the net. This combination of various herbs and minerals has long been known as an immune booster. It is widely used for recurrent coughs and colds, chest disorders and also for lowered vitality. A combination medicine advertised in the net for AIDS contains the following ingredients; Sanjivani Butti,Amruta,Musli (Safed),Gokharu,Satavari,Kadiyatu,Mari, Tulsi,Kaucha,Jethimadh,Mandur Bhasma,Haridra,Harde,Jivanti,Kadu,Sunth, Kankach,Lindipiper,Meshparni,Ashwagandha,Silajit,SuddhaGuggal, Indrajav,Vidari Kand,Neem Chhal. A very important research is now being carried out whether condoms can prevent veneral disorders including AIDS. Interestingly even the use of condoms may not be sufficient, the incomplete study suggests, as "something minute" was crossing over. Actually, as per both ayurveda and homeopathy, the urge to lead an undisciplined life is itself a "terrain" for severe disorders to follow. There is alread "yakshma" present in the patient which proceeds to "raja-yakshma" after suffering the horrible effects of suppressed veneral disorders using steroids and antibiotics. The future generations inherit the tendency. Regards, Jagannath.

Guest guest
Greetings, Absolutely, Tinospora cordifolia is amoung the best herbs in combating the AIDS virus.. try searching www.pubmed.com with this herb, and you are likely to find studies that have been done by various Universities. Gudduci, or Amrita (Amrit) is the Sanskrit for "Ambrosia", nectar of the Gods. It is one of the best immunomodulators known in the Ayurvedic pharmacopia. The fresh juice, if you can obtain it, is the best. Powered herb is also great. It will also combat stress, fatigue, clean the liver and blood, and stimulate higher cerebral function of the brain. Guducci is one of my "best friends", and I have personally seen it work wonders with my patients. Best of luck Blessings, ayurveda, Incredible Marilyn <tripplechocolate2000> wrote: > > Oh wow! thanks I'm going to research this. > > Jagannath Chatterjee <jagchat01> wrote: > Another medicine was suggested during a TV discussion.
