Guest guest
with an intact foreskin there is the exposure of susceptible mucosal tissues to potential pathogens - with circumcision, these mucosal tissues become keratinized by puberty because the foreskin which produces the "smegma" which both lubricates the penis during sexual intercourse and protects the rich supply of nerve ending, is gone this keratinization becomes an effective barrier to fluid exchange and hence infection - but its a sad event for men that might have wished to have had the choice - fortunately this practice is no longer seen as medically necessary, like it was at one time also, somebody is confusing terms here - a circumcision cannot be a vaccine, which technically is an exogenous substance introduced into the blood to stimulate immunity - circumcision is circumcision it might be useful to note that the vast majority HIV+ men in the West are circumcised - so much for that abstention, monogamy, and condoms remain the best and most effective weapons against venereal disease best... todd On 29-Sep-05, at 6:44 AM, ayurveda wrote: > Dear Friends, > > We had many traditional methods that had become a part of our lives. > The Muslims have always practiced male circumcision as a prevention > against veneral diseases.
