Guest guest
This seems to be the predominant view of Jesus and Christianity in the West. God is "above" us. Jesus did say he was the Son of God. I find no difference between the teachings of Buddha and the teachings of Jesus. There is only a difference on emphasis and different ways of teaching. Jesus taught in metaphor. Those metaphors get distorted into "truth" by fundamentalists.(I am not saying you are a fundamentalist.) We are all Sons and Daughters of God. There is no difference between God and man. God is man and man is God. It is up to us to find that divinity in each of us. Both Buddha and Jesus were avatars. Strife has followed all the teachings of Masters but not because of their teachings. It is because those teachings become mutated by the egos of the people practicing those religions. If the essences of the religions were practiced, then wars, etc. would become moot. GB Khalsa There is a *significant* difference between Buddha bein g a Hindu and Jesus a Jew. Buddha never really associated himself as savior of men. Jesus on the other hand claimed being the Son of God, etc. But the single largest difference is Buddha was self-realized and looked for the meaning of life.... for himself. Jesus claimed to be of divine origin. the buddhist principle of "at the end is nothing" is very different from the hindu emphasis on the Self. Jesus' principles/life came and continued in judaism spawning much strife during and since his being.
Guest guest
Not sure if Jesus actually proclaimed himslef as the son of God. He was suppose to be of the Essene spiritual cult, and not even of semitic or Jewish origin, but of Indo-Aryan origin of peopel that came up from Egypt. This is from a book by the Roscicrucians, who claim to be have connections and records of the life of Jesus and the Essenes. > This seems to be the predominant view of Jesus and Christianity in the West.
