the question presupposes that DNA is static

its not: it evolves, changes and mutates according to external

(environmental) influences

using herbal remedies can be seen as a subtle form of genetic

manipulation - this has become much clearer now that the human genome

has been mapped - everything we do affects our genetics to one degree

or another

what we don't know is the end result of intentionally modifying DNA -

this is the difference between wisdom and speculation

I aqgree with you Todd. A scientist involved with genetic study has

issued words of caution in this regard. He said that the chimpanzee is

a very close cousin of the human species and is 99% similiar

genetically to humans. He warned that if 1% difference can cause so

much diversity then every step in the direction of genetic manipulation

should be taken with the utmost caution, if taken at all.

Jagannath.
