Guest guest
hi GB boiling water will precipitate some salts, but is only effective if you can recover the steam, i.e. steam distillation will have no minerals in it otherwise, much of the minerals will remain in the water despite boiling although some may precipitate on the sides of the pot, e.g. the calcium and magnesium salts in hard water (people living in regions with hard water will know what i'm taking about) - but these minerals aren't dangerous and are actually health-giving i would have to see the reference, but if the book was written in india i suspect it is just a general health warning as water quality is often suspect in India otherwise, freshly boiled water is generally good for reducing vata and kapha, and enhancing agni best... todd On 15-Sep-05, at 5:36 AM, ayurveda wrote: > > I read in an Ayurvedic book that it is preferable to boil water than > drink it from other sources.
