Guest guest
Hello! As an english speaker I do not always know the names of herbs and use this site for a translation: http://www.thinkayurveda.com/herb_d.asp?char=a〈=AllNames Are there sites any of you could recommend for those of us who do not know all the ayurvedic terms? I am interested in the whys of nutrition. At first I was going to ask why so often it is recommended pickles be removed from the diet, and of what benefit pickles are. Now I wish to go further: is there a website available that goes into extensive detail about many foods? To all of you who post regularly, a bouquet! I am a devoted reader. I very much appreciate the time and information that you impart. Thank you so much for attending to each question as you do, and for sometimes disagreeing. Thank you for referring us to past messages, and recommending literature. Thank you for your humanitarian service! sincerely, Ronalie
Guest guest
Ronalie Ayurvedic Vaidyas are very happy to read the words you have chosen in your post, and feel that the time and effort of replying the querries was worth it. A file called Food_Properties.doc in files section of group website in folder 'articles' should be of some help to you. Try to balance your Kapha, Vata and Pitta using this file as a preliminary guide. A test for each individual and each food will be recommended in another post by this author tomorrow. Author of this post likes to suggest mostly home remedies, since they are universal, no regulations/doubts such as heavy metals can come across them and they can be applied even at 2 am, when most doctors will be dreaming! Most of the home remedies require simple kitchen items, their names in most of the languages of world can be found at: http://www.uni-graz.at/~katzer/engl/generic_frame.html This site is complete in all the sense, giving even high quality photographs of the herbs, seeds, fruits etc. Dr Bhate ayurveda, sigrros <no_reply> wrote: as an english speaker I do not always know the names of herbs and use > this site for a translation: > http://www.thinkayurveda.com/herb_d.asp?char=a〈=AllNames > Are there sites any of you could recommend for those of us who do not > know all the ayurvedic terms? Guest guest
These were two excellent sources Dr Bhate, I thank you very much for taking time to reply! The Food_properties chart makes balancing Kapha, Vata and Pitta so much clearer. The website you provided has so much information I might learn something new every day. My apologies for not having read the Articles in Files sooner!
