Dear Friends,

As anti inflammatory and anti arthritic drugs are increasingly showing up

disturbing, often fatal, side effects, scientists are now turning to fruits and

vegetables to combat the disease.

Side effects of allopathic drugs is causing widespread concern. In another

report of today an article quotes an FDA insider who claims there are five drugs

available in the market which the FDA has approved while being fully aware of

the potential life threatening side effects. Among these are anti obesity and

cholesterol reducing drugs.

Regarding obesity, schools in America are now banning the sale of fast food and

cola drinks in the school canteens. Do you know what they are opting for

instead? Indian lassi, a buttermilk preparation very popular in North India. I

think in the next few years we may see a revolution in the way food is related

to health. We seem to be returning to our roots after a failed experiment that

has killed millions all over the world.

Jagannath.

When you mention orange juice, I am assuming that you mean fresh squeezed, not

the stuff we buy at the market.....

Yes,Heidi it has to be fresh squeezed. you may add a pinch of

black salt and a pinch of pepper powder if you desire. It could be more

delicious as many of the indians do so...The packaged juice always contain

preservatives.

Thank you Dr. Venu. I have a question for you, if I might ask. I have

developed a tooth infection/abscess on a tooth under a bridge. I was going to

go in for the root canal and all else the dental world could provide, but my

Ayurvedic Doctor who is in another state, told me not to and sent me some

herbs. I am giving it a week to see if the infection gets under control, but

why would ayurveda suggest not getting a root canal? Is it due to the sudden

release of toxins into the system, or due to the deadening of the nerve, or

something completely different?

Thank you.
