Namaste everyone,

I was the new member who wrote in regarding the case of eczema on my

wrists and hands (and even half my face!) that had started out as a

little patch on one wrist a year and a half ago and had gradually

spread.

I have been having some success, using a multitude of therapies,

some of which had been suggested to me on this board, and I wanted

to let everyone know how things have been working out.

I know that the cure for any disease is to find its root cause and

eliminate that. With eczema, however, this can prove to be very

tricky, as it can be caused by so many different things and so the

remedy for each person can be different. I also know that in cases

of chronic disorders, the cause is often not one single thing, but a

pattern or a set of things. I'll share what has been gradually

working for me.

I may have stated this before, but my particular rash ran almost

perfectly along the C8 dermatome, which to my understanding is the

area supplied by a nerve as it juts out from the spine. So my ulnar

nerve and little bits of my radial and facial nerves are affected.

So the handheld biofeedback machine started the healing, because it

went in and cleared out and rebalanced the nerves. Then I signed up

with a good chiropractor to keep the nerves open and unobstructed at

the spinal level, as spinal vertebrae can impinge nerves. I also

realized I was probably too toxic and aggravating this skin

condition were the excess toxins that my body was trying to

excrete. So I also started on an herbal colon and liver cleanser.

The longest-lasting differences, however, came from changes I

implemented at the advice of this group. One has to do with the

excess of Pitta-aggravating foods in the diet. And I can tell if &

when I've eaten too many of those foods. I must be vigilant, and my

adherence to a Pitta-pacifying diet must be strict. I am completely

vegetarian with the exception of occasional salmon, due to the good

fats, oils, and vitamins found in the fish. I don't have eggs,

pork, lamb, beef, chicken, butter, etc. I do eat organic skim milk

and non-sharp cheese. The other important element I found makes a

big difference has to do with emotional/psychological

aspect/outlook, as stress, anger, rash criticism, and judgment were

all perpetuating this eczema. Negativity and getting wrapped up in

maya, the illusion that we are all separate beings, and being too

quick to pass judgment on others, was having a boomerang effect,

coming immediately straight back to me. I was an arrogant hothead

with a superiority comlpex. I behaved rashly, spoke rashly, thought

rashly, criticized rashly, and eventually became the "rash" that I

was cultivating. I am now learning and reaching a state of

humility, servitude, and empathy. I am learning to let go and have

faith.

Not everyone's cause is the same, but I thought I'd share mine in

the hopes that I have helped make a difference in someone's life.

If I have touched a heart today, I have done my job. :)

Om shanti,

--Jyoti

PS: I want to thank the wonderful people of this group who

selflessly gave their insight to me in hopes that they can help me

and if I ever get the opportunity to do the same for them or someone

else, I pray that I can be of the same help.

Congratulations to you Jyoti and thanks for sharing your story.

I, too, had amazing success clearing my rosacea facial rash by

reducing or eliminating pitta-type foods. For me, salt was one of

the main sources of difficulty.
