Guest guest
I am wondering what the ayurvedic explanation is for long strings of heart palpitations? It has to do with motion of the heart, so vata dosha must be involved, and with heart itself, so pitta dosha would seem to be aggravated. There is faintness and a weird feeling that comes with these episodes and they may occur months from each other or there may be a series of them a few minutes apart. The irregularity would seem to be a vata problem too. I have noticed that these seem to be a problem for the cardiologists, too, because of the irregularity of them: such things almost never happen in the doctor's office until a person is extremely ill. Since digitalis is one of the treatments for atrial fibrillation, and it is a herbal substance, is there an ayurvedic equivalent? I have read about Arjuna herb and that it is for the heart, but is it for the rhythm or overall toning and strengthening? The theory is what interests me in this case at this time. I am going to see the cardiologist in a week for the Western point of view--he is from Madras, however. I feel reassured, because I think doctors from India are the best in the world, in my experience. Namaste, Darla Wells
