Dear Friends,

The Apollo Hospital group of India, a super speciality chain of hospitals, has

opened an alternative medicine wing which was recently formally inaugurated by

the Chief Minister of New Delhi. The opening of this wing became necessary as

the doctors started referring terminal cases to ayurveds and homeopaths. So the

hospital thought that if it has an inhouse facility it could retain the

patients, and the money of course.

However this move has not been very well received by the medical community who

prefer that alternate medicine should be called, "complimentary medicine", ie

complimentary to allopathy.

"We prefer to term it complimentary medicine rather than alternative medicine.

Another problem is the paucity of evidence, not enough data to prove its

worth.’’

We can understand the discomfiture !!!
