DIGESTIVE DISORDERS:

Ayurveda considers indigestion to be the root cause of all most all

the diseases. So proper management of digestive impairment in the

initial stage itself prevents the onset of many other major illnesses

in later stages of life.

Hyperacidity:

Caused due to derangement of digestive fire by vitiated Pitta energy

is characterized by the inflammation and irritation of the gastric

mucosa. The treatment mainly includes dietary restrictions, internal

medicines to pacify the aggravated Pitta energy. Persons with chronic

history may be advised to undergo some detoxifying Panchakarma

procedures. In all the cases the persons are advised to practice

Yoga. Meditation to minimize the level of stress and anxiety, which

are considered to be the Major causative factors of Hyperacidity in

the modern world.

Ulcers:

Too much of hurry, worry and spicy curries which stimulate excessive

secretion of gastric juice destroy the mucous lining along the

digestive tract causing sores/ulcers. The primary objective of the

Ayurvedic treatment is to bring this ulcer into the condition of

healing sore. Snehapana or intake of medicated ghee has excellent

healing effect when advised along with few dietary instructions such

as frequent well balanced meals, avoiding carbonated drinks alcohol,

tea, coffee and managing worries through positive attitude and stress

management techniques.

Constipation:

While inadequate fiber and water intakes are the common culprits, a

hectic lifestyle is also often to blame for this nagging health

problem. The condition results due to derangement of digestive fire

followed by vitiation of Apana Vayu Energy situated in the pelvic

region and below. Treatment aims at lifestyle modifications such as

scheduling regular meal times, responding to natural urges timely,

high fluid and high fiber intake, exercises to stimulate and

strengthen the muscles of the intestinal track along with

administration of carminatives and mild laxatives. Long-term

sufferers might be advised to undergo. Specific Panchakarma

procedures, like medicated oil enemas (Shehavasti) or medicated

decoction enemas to correct the deranged apana vayu.
