Dear Rebecca, Greetings. I have not gone through the posts either but Tulsi is the wonder plant as far as medicinal properties are concerned. I have an entire book devoted to Tulsi which defines all its possible uses in various forms of disease. As Tulsi is consecrated to Lord Vishnu, it is considered to be extremely holy. Lord Vishnu maintains the creation hence Tulsi too is suggested as a maintainence herb to ward off disease. People chew the leaves everyday and also use its dried stem as a neckband or armband. Not only the leaves and stem, the seeds and root too are very useful. Besides there are many varieties of Tulsi. In many books it is suggested that if the patient is too weak to respond to herbs then Tulsi may be given to restore vitality. Even cases where the patient himself has lost all hopes of life or is weary of life can be helped by Tulsi. Keeping a Tulsi plant in the compound will guard the entire house of all forms of dangerous entities by keeping the atmosphere pure. In India Tulsi, Bael, Neem, drumstick, guava, banana, mango, jackfruit etc. were a part of every house and its adjoining garden. No wonder our ancestors were so healthy. Regards, Jagannath.
