Guest guest
My nurse-practitioner has me on NSAID (Mobic) for arthritis, cardiologist put me on 1 aspirin daily for heart (just in case), Nurse put me on Proton Pump Inhibitor (Prevacid) for irritation caused by these and the other medications I am on. Medications give me some nausea and diarrhea usually. Question: This morning I was in a room with someone smoking cigarettes and got sick, then I puked up all my medications and there was some blood with it, not bright red but dark. I have seen this before with an ulcer I had that healed. My intentions are to keep taking the Prevacid and maybe the aspirin later on when stomach is better, but to quit the Mobic and eat very carefully. What kind of diet is best for this? I don't think the bleeding is very serious yet, and I want to prevent it from getting worse. Fasting makes the stomach feel worse. I drink soda pop, but no alcohol (cause of previous ulcer). Eating yogurt tends to be my answer to all stomach problems but it is not working today very well. Tomato products make it worse but peppers and hot stuff are usually okay. I am under major stress right now but usually that has not messed with my stomach. It does not seem to be acute, pulse is around 80 and thumping. Ultimately, I want to work out a program to get off most or all of my medications. Right now I take norvasc, wellbutrin, clonazepam, mobic, aspirin, glucophage, ventolin inhaler, advair, prevacid, sometimes scopolamine patch and meclizine. This is way too much medication and the medication is worrying me more than the stuff I am taking it for.
Guest guest
Lethe9 Yours is a first message on this list stating all medication being taken currently, and describing symptoms including pulse to best possible extent. Members requested to follow this example when posting querries. Sorry we are too busy in resolving differences in philosophies on food, "pathies" etc. Hence your message has missed the attention. Since medication is worrying you more than the stuff for which you are taking it, the stress and resultant acidity has roots in your thopughts. Vomit is a body reaction out of whatever intelligence body is left with after all the excess. Since you mentioned yoghurt works for you normally, please check up http://health.ayurveda/message/4113 The bloody vomit can sometimes be because of scratching of arteries when something containing solids is being vomitted. Blackish color develops when there is internal bleeding and some time has elapsed after the bleeding. Green gram khitchdi with a little lemon juice sprinkled in is preferred food during such problems, fevers, weakness etc. Lemon juice is a very special. Use it whenever you are tired, want appetiser, or want to alkalize your constitution in presence of medicinal acids. Though it is a citrus fruit, it has alkalizing effect. That is where ayurveda differs from modern science. Ayurveda is not a physical science or chemistry or pharmacology. While ayurveda contraindicates all sour taste items during amla-pitta or vidagdha ajirna, Aamvata, lemon is an exception. Author reserves discussion on lemon juice to some other post later. Guest guest
Thank you very much, Dr. Bhate. I have been enjoying the discussions greatly. I like lemon juice and take a fair amount of it and will continue with that. The stomach is trying to straighten itself out and I am being very very cautious with the NSAIDS and aspirin.
