Dear Dr. Durgesh,

Namaste. We should not mind an allopathic MD studying ayurveda and

then trying to sincerely practice the science. But as we have seen

with allopaths trying to practice homeopathy they often, because of

their already ingrained notion of disease, fail to accept the

dynamics of treatment and disease. They prescribe for pathological

conditions alone and when they fail they malign alternative medicine

saying that it does not work. If a pilot crashes while trying to fly

a plane is it the force of gravity which is to blame or the

inexperienced pilot?

But do you really feel the ayurveds need to study modern medicine? If

they do so they would be dashing the hopes of those patients who come

to them after suffering at the hands of allopathy. And you know most

of the patients who flock to alternate medicine come after being

mauled by modern medicine.

Ayurveda requires much more than brains. It requires intuition, the

opening of the third eye. Unless you understand the human mind, the

concepts of the nadi, the subtle body, the energy vortices etc. you

cannot properly comprehend ayurveda. Let us not forget that the

founders of ayurveda were not physical scientists, they were seers.

Their vision extended to infinity. They were not accustomed to the

finite.

If you consider yourself to be merely a body you are not even a speck

of dust in this Universe. But, as the mind, you encompass it.

I hope you understand.

Regards,

Jagannath.

Dear jagannath ji

>From reading your various mails I feel that you are having good knowledge of

homoeoathy than the ayurveda but i may be wrong in my assesment.I would like to

convey you that the knowledge of ayurveda is not intution base as u have said

its a purely scientific base of course every thing is not yet fitted in the

farme of resent science but many things are slowly being proved on the

parameters of western modern science (the science of the day).I fell that the

time is very close when the principles of eastern basic sciences will be proved

on the western parameters and they will be compelled to make ammendements

accordingly. having the war of words has no meaning.None has told to west for

adopting accupuncture or yoga or herbs or massage therapy or panchakarma for the

welfare of sufferings but it has taken its recognition in their lap and many

person from west is now turning to wards these system which are originally

avolved in east and china, india will take the lead of world market in

near future i hope.

In india banaras hindu university made the arrrangement for promoting ayurveda

among western medicine doctors and the admission to thatcourse for

MD(Ayurveda)is still has reservations for the people coming from MBBS root and

many has done it too so its not new thing or amaging thing that an MD studying

ayurveda hence need not be stressed much.

personally i do not agree with your idea that the ayurvedic doctors do not study

the modern med.because to day the patients first choice is allopathy and they

come to ayurveda in last so unless thease doctors do not know the depth of the

drugs taken and system injured and its extent he will commit the crime with

dealing that patient.Hence the knowledge of modern medicine to an ayurvedist is

required to be more deeper than an allopathic graduate of course i do agree that

he should adopt his own ayurvedic parameters for diagnosis and treatment. I

wonder that the people like you are misleading the common man being sympathiser

of ayurveda.Nadi vigyan which may be involving intution and

seer/siddha/tantric/jyotish practices do not have importance in diagnosing the

disease and treatement in ancient ayurvedic literature and its a gimmick to

attract the mass to run the buisness again on the basic princiles of ayurveda

and not on the nadi parikshaI will tell you many more in order to correct

your wrong vision towards ayurveda in due course of time after getting your

egoless response
