Guest guest
Dear Friends, We are constantly consuming. All our five senses are always eating inputs from the external world. So it is not that if we just control our food intake that we reduce the passions. For that; 1. The eye should not see exciting objects, 2. The ears should not listen to exciting discourses, 3. The nose should not smell passion evoking perfumes, 4. The skin should not be in touch with objects of passion, AND 5. The mind should not dwell on sexual topics. Usually just controlling the mind is enough. Because if the mind is inattentive or unresponsive the sensual inputs cannot disturb a person. Like a person engrossed in reading a book will not hear the door bell ringing though the ear listens. Therefore I believe one should not unnecessarily judge spiritual personalities based on food alone. This is just my own opinion on the subject.
