Guest guest
What exactly is the stance of Ayurveda on microwaved and left over food? How does the microwaving affect the prana of the food. What is said to happen to food if it is saved from a previous meal to be eaten later. I am seeking an Ayurvedic perspective. Thanks, Ryan
Guest guest
Ayurveda prefers cooking on a flame (or electric) stove and oven. Microwaving is considered to damage or even destroy the life-energy of food. Since Ayurveda encourages quality and quantity of food, I would say that leftovers might be discouraged when possible. But I too would like to hear more about that. Marie ascendwv wrote: What exactly is the stance of Ayurveda on microwaved and left over food? Guest guest
Namaste and hello, Mohan Joshi. What you say is very true. However, both Vamadeva Dr. David Frawley in his Ayurvedic Medicine course, and Atreya in his Ayurvedic Nutrition course, do refer to Microwaving as not being recommended. This may well be simply because of the "science" behind microwaving, science, that is, of the style of food preparation, and the impact of microwaving in general on health, that may be the cause of its being less preferred in Ayurveda. Guest guest
Hi, Microwaving is considered to damage or even destroy the life-energy of food already in our time and this is like leftovers which Ayurveda considers very harmful. ---- mohan joshi 06/27/05 09:59:29 Hi Ayurveda is sevaral thousand years old science when micowave was not even thought .Therefore how one can find mention of microvave in ayurveda. i think is is totally wrong to find out what ayurved says about anything discovered in twenty first century
