Guest guest
Dear Bhanu, I share your concern over disappearance of normal salt from market and being replaced by iodised salt. We should ensure that our voice be heard by those who matter. I suggest that with vast experience of members of the group, we should gather adequate evidence against the universalisation of iodised salt and may be send an e-mail to Hon'ble health minister of India. His e-mail ID is hfm Vineet Bhatia "bhanutikare" Salt about to disappear. ..........Much important however, is inteference in the food of the people. In last two years, the sale of iodised salt has fallen in India by 36%. The manufacturer's lobby got concerned. Quoting some WHO reports, salt is made responsible for lack of Iron and Calcium in pregnant women and children. Bowing to them, now the sale of ordinary sea salt is about to be made "illegal" in India, after the farce of "Dandi march" a few months back. While evryone knows that smoking is injurious to health, cigaret manufacturers escape by only printing a warning on the packets, that too only in so small aprint that nobody even reads it. Howver, salt gets totally banned!.........
