I suffer from night time acid reflux. During the day I am fine. The

attack normally occurs between 4 and 6 am. I am on 40 mg omeprazole for

last one year. I have employed most of the generally well known

strategies ( not eating fatty food for dinner, at least 3 hours gap

between dinner and going to bed, elevating the head side of the bed

etc.) These strategies have helped me but have not given me a complete

cure. I would be very grateful to have any suggestions on

Aurevidic/natural remedies.

I had this for a while and it turned out to be mostly iatrogenic.

Also, reflux tends to be a condition of excess. Check out what other

medications you are taking. NSAIDS are the worst offenders. Also, I

experimented with diet and found that coffee, alcohol, strong black

tea, soda pop, tomatoes, some mints, and pepperoni will almost

guarantee an attack no matter what time of the day they are taken. I

also found that a 3 hour gap was not quite sufficient and moved dinner

back until I found a better time, and made lunch my heaviest meal.

Stress always made mine worse. Recently, my doctor took me off

celebrex for arthritis and put me on a different NSAID and it came

back, so I really feel what you are going through. I have to take

prevacid to tolerate the NSAID at all. When all else fails I take a

couple of generic ranitidine, and sit up until they take effect, then

rest on a very high pile of hard pillows so I am propped up. It is a

miserable condition to wake up choking and having an asthma attack

because of reflux. You didn't mention if you have asthma or are

overweight, but both of these aggravate the condition and vice versa.

These are all cheap and easy to try.

Good luck.
