Guest guest
Esteemed Members, I hope this finds you all very well! Its been quite sometime since I posted a message on this forum, today I have a very unusual problem to bring to your notice. My father-in-law, who will turn 66 this July, has been suffering with a very strange problem for the past 7 years now. He gets a feeling (or we dont know for sure if its actually there...) that he's been constantly attacked by mosquitoes, flies and somethings he called "gnats". we have consulted many skin doctors, pyschiatrists but most of them have dismissed the problem saying that its a phenomenon called "dillusion"...Sometimes he actually gets bitten, but most of the times there is nothing around him. To give a bit of a background about him, he is a retired Lecturer in English from Delhi University and he is now settled in Chennai. He is very fit for a 65yr old, but sometimes he feels there is some problem with his blood sugar levels. That too we have gotten tested several times, its a lill higher then the acceptable range but I'm sure that does not mean he has diabetes (Our family doctor does not think so!) He's really reached a point where he feels he will have a nervous breakdown beacuse he cant sleep in the nights as he says that thats the time when the insects bother him the most. He has become a very angry person as a result of this and sometimes he says he does have suicidal tendencies too because he is so fed up. He says that Modern science has completely failed him and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Can Ayurveda help him? To give some more details, he does have a very dry skin and an infected toe in the right leg which he feels attracts the insects more towards him. He also wants to do a sweat analysis since he feels that its his sweat that attracts flies towards him. We are really worried for him and would request all you learned members to give us some insight on this. Thanks very much and I look forward to hearing from all of you. Warm regards Bhairvi
