Chinese dietary states that pork is excellent for constipation, but i doubt you'll find many on this list nodding their head in agreement (anyway, i can't stand pork...) - there are also disagreements over other food articles, such as honey, which the Chinese routinely heat and cook, most famously, actually BBQing licorice (yashti madhu) in honey to enhance its digestive properties eggs are a very important food in Chinese medicine, and consumed by most people on a daily basis while all foods have restrictions, eggs were never considered a food that needed to be avoided - this is a modern nutritional concept that has only been with us for a few decades - unfortunately it is a dogma that has made its way into supposedly holistic circles, like Paul Pitchford's deconstructionist tome "Healing with Whole Foods," which basically ignores the history of chinese medicine, and bends and warps Chinese dietary principles to meet the needs of his rather strident vegetarian polemic (i.e. he really promulgates a kind of macrobiotic hi-bred) Caldecott www.toddcaldecott.com
Guest guest
- I am not allergic to any foods, though I have a heart problem and I do know that when I eat eggs(I don't anymore consciously) that it will effect me negatively, and I don't have any food allergies. Eggs are very rich in cholersterol, calories which may be good but for people with heart problems or kidney problems, poor digestion I would say that it is not a healthy food, (I have all of these ailments) It's the yolk that is the problem, not the white. My yoga/meditation teacher says eggs are static food also, and this is based on Tantric science, yoga, as they expouse vegitarianism for overall health. You may be right, but I am going on my personal experience -- In ayurveda, Todd Caldecott <todd@t...> wrote: > eggs do not spend an abnormal amount of time in the digestive tract > if prepared properly they are rapidly broken down and absorbed by the GIT > because they do not contain any fiber they are very efficiently > absorbed and there is little if any residue left in the intestine > this is why they do not contribute to the fecal bulk, because they
Guest guest
Dear chotawa, If a a person with heart problem, i do suggest eggs are better to be taken with black peper powder .2-3 pinches of pepper powder to be sprinkled over the pieces of boiled eggs and can be consumed. As in ayurveda pepper (Mareecha) with its unique pharmacological activity called "PRAMADHI" cleans and clears all the channels in the body including coronary arteries. In this context "BHAVAMISHRA"author of "BHAVAPRAKASHA"described the effect of mareecha on heart as"HRUDAYANILA NASHAYA".
