As a practitioner "Neurotherapy/Nadi Vigyan this is a fascinating discussion,

regarding the therapy of Ramdev Maharaj, as it is very similar to

Neurotherapy/Nadi Vigyan.

In Hippocratic medicine where there are 5 states of the body or the Ayurvedic

model of 3 main doshas; in a similar vein according to modern day

Neurotherapy/Nadi Vigyan theory there exists two imbalanced states of the body

i.e. Acid and Alkaline. The right side of the body is said to be "Alkaline" and

the left side of the body "Acid"; these observations is due to the fact that

both kidneys do not work identically. A sluggish left kidney increases acidic

tendencies of the blood, while a sluggish right kidney, increases the alkalinity

of the blood.

Typical symptoms of ACIDOSIS - constipation, blocked nose, dry cough, heavy

menses, migraine, hypothyroidism, piles, slack muscles, low b.p., pains

predominantly left side of the body etc

Typical symptoms of ALKALOSIS - frequent stools, pale watery fluid from the

nose, mucous cough, scanty menses, headache (at top of skull), hyperthyroidism,

spastic muscles, tumor, high b.p., arthiritris pains predominantly right side of

the body etc

Could these states of Acid and Alkali be linked to Ida and Pingala?
