Dear Dr. Bhate,

Your post was informative as usual. You mentioned cow

urine and self urine. Is one better than the other

or is one more effective in certain situations than

the other? I know that the best way to take auto

urine is the first thing in the morning by taking the

middle third of the urine stream.

I also noticed that you just mentioned cow urine.

Panch gavya implies the 5 products from the cow. Is

the urine the best part? Should one take all 5 parts

at once ( the urine, dung, yogurt, milk and ghee )? I

was also wondering how they collect the cow urine.

>From my American perspective, I can just imagine a cow

with abig strap tied around it's abdomen with a bucket

between the cow's legs. What a sight!

Thank you,

GB Khalsa

dr. bhate provides an excellent example of an auto-immune disease, an

apparent glomerular nephropathy, effectively treated by removing all

antigenic foods from the diet

these include flour, dairy, sugar, coffee/tea, citrus, nightshades,

grains, legumes, commercial meat, alcohol and almost all prepackaged

and refined foods

vegetables are the single most important food for humans, not because

they provide energy, but because the contain all the nutrients needed

to _regulate_ energy in the body - vegetables and medicinal plants are

the external manifestation of the native, plant-like intelligence that

we all have and need to connect with in chronic disease

vegetables are also particularly good in the acute manifestation of any

AI disease, and can be consumed liberally, preferably fresh juices and

steamed vegetables - i like the steamed vegetables because I believe

the fiber is very healthful, and juices can be too sweet (esp. if they

are carrot-based); coconut water is very healthful and i am very

thankful to be living in a place where they are so easily accessible

as the acute phase subsides foods to enhance recuperation include

steamed fish, raw egg yolk, meat broth; for vegetarians some a watery

dahl and rice cooked with ginger, black pepper, hing/garlic, a little

salt and ghee, or perhaps fresh coconut jelly/milk etc - of course

there are many favorite herbs that can be added, particularly as teas,

e.g. coriander, fennel, ginger, mints, basil etc.

unpasteurized dairy products (e.g. dahi) besides ghee or butter may be

acceptable in some patients but should always be consumed as a meal

unto itself (pasteurized/homogenized/powdered sources should be

strenuously avoided)

over a period of time this can be followed by an an increasing variety

foods, but limited to the core of vegetables and protein sources,

limiting carbohydrate foods - the andean grain quinoa is an excellent

food for vegetarians and non-veg alike, almost 50% protein; other

possibilities in non-sensitive individuals include amaranth buckwheat,

barley, and oats, as well as various seeds (hemp, flax) and nuts

(sesame, almond)

this is a very simple protocol that can be followed in all disease of

excess - i.e. disease that have ama and/or vitiations of pitta or

kapha, or in otherwords, about 80-90% of disease in the West

for the converse, i.e. nirama vata (no ama + increase of vata),

measures are different, and not so restrictive

I have a yoga/meditation teacher who follows Indian tantric science,

and says that egg yolk is a static food.

Egg yolk is static because it stays in the intestines 24 hours and

very hard on the digestive system
