Guest guest
Dear Ayurveda-online: My aunt is suffering from chronic sinus infections and is considering surgery. The infection comes with acute sinus headaches and pain across her face. She uses a naadi pot daily and has applied some poultices, but the condition has become too chronic. What alternatives can I offer her before she resorts to surgery? My friend also suffers from chronic warts on his hands. I know it is related to suppressed immune function, but haven't found info. on cures in any of my Ayurvedic texts. Thank you kindly for your time, Cora ---- Cora Neumann, MPH, DPhil candidate University of Oxford, UK
Guest guest
Cora, Surgery will not provide the solution. This author passed through that ordeal in the childhood and suffered without any benifit. If your aunt has some or all of following symptoms in addition to what you have described: 1. Sneezing in morning, eyes becoming reddish after sneezing 2. Heaviness in stomach even after an hour or two after food 3. Slight constipation, stools lack adequate yellow color 4. Irregular hunger/bowels 5. Gas/aciditity when hot/spicy/fried/legume foods are taken If that is the case she needs 1. Aarogyavardhini Ras 2 Tabs slight chew and swallow with water after food 2. Chandrakala Ras 2 Tabs in the same way after food. 3. Avipattikara or Shatpatryadi Churna, 1/2 to 1 tsp after dinner or around bed time. She must avoid iodized salt, spicy hot foods, dairy items. Use sea salt in Neti. If she has no aversion, she can also try Neti of self urine, diluted in ratio 1:3 (three times warm water added). Details of this procedure will be available on UT group websites. most of these medicines may be available online. In case you find it difficult, contact our group again.
