NIAM Chyawan Prash

I just received an order of Chyawan Prash from The National

Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine in New York, who is promoting their

authentic formula. This is the 2nd time I ordered their product.

Previously I was very satisfied, now I am not so sure.

 

 

The previous product I had from last year (red lid/different label)

had Gur sugar listed as a minor ingredient and Amla as a major

ingredient at 20gm for each 25gm.

 

Now Amla it is down to 6gm and sugar is quoted at the same qty.

 

But AMAZINGLY, the individual ingredients doesn't add up when put

together.

 

Each 25gm measured only about 14gm !!!

 

This jam is very light color, dry, solid and sweet, as if there is a

ton of Gur in it. Must be more than 6gm for sure.

 

What is happening – or should I say - what is going on here?!?

 

Have I been cheated? More to follow...

 

I wonder how much NIAM sell of it. Let me know if any of you had

problems with this product.

 

Btw, anyone has good comparable experience with the organic CP from

Banyan Botanicals?

Ole, My experience with the Banyan CP - now I'm no expert to judge, but

have tried several brands - I like taste but it seems they cooked to

carmel stage, too long it is so sticky. I also do not know if any

other company besides Maharishi AYurved takes the care to separately

cook lower temp etc the amlaki so it is not loosing its vitamin c and

all. Hopefully that is part of original formulation of these kinds of

products, but so many have honey, or seem so cheap, I do not know who

to trust.
