Guest guest
In the past few days there have been lot of enquiries about textbooks on ayurveda. Even a general search on amazon will throw up many names, but my personal experience is there is really no good textbook on ayurveda in English. Whatever is available is too amateurish and often confuses rather than enlighten people about ayurveda. One proof of the fact is that inspite of so many books and so many articles on the net on "Prakriti", the simple fact that prakriti is determined at birth, is determined by the doshic constitution of the shukra and raja dhatu (roughly the sperm and the ovum) and never changes throughout life is never succesfully communicated to the reader. Hence we have people searching for recipes to change their prakritis and filling online or back-of-the-book forms to determine their prakriti by 20 simple questions!!! One of our group member Todd is now writing a textbook on ayurveda. I do hope he comes out with something substanstial and does not only add to the statistics of "books on ayurveda". how about a complimentary copy for the moderators ;-> Cybervaidya
