Guest guest
I was in Hawaii with friends. I was starting to have one of those neck-tension headaches that turn into migraine with nausea. I was starting to get the sickest when my host served dinner. It was a meat curry dish, and I DREADED trying to gag it down, and knew that I was going to have to go to the ER and get a Toradol shot. I started to slowly eat the curry meal, and within 10 minutes MOST of the headache was gone. After 20 minutes, I felt normal and good. What happened? Was it the TURMERIC or CURRY POWDER or WHAT, that acted as a strong anti-inflammatory / pain reliever. Even hospital medication has not helped this completely or fast. Guest guest
was it a hot curry? spicy herbs have a vasodilatory effect, and some kinds of headaches are caused because of blood flow constriction to the brain, usually secondary to muscular spasm - ginger is commonly used for this, but others (e.g. chili, pepper) will have a similar effect
