We can debate this issue till the "cows come home", and still not find an

adequate answer.

All women are same all over the world and so are the cows. I do not think that

Western cows have any different reaction than Indian cows or vice versa. Should

one deprive the poor calf of its rightful milk to feed thousands of babies or

adults is again a philosophical issue.

It is not merely a matter of Boxers vs Yogis, but of survival of the infants

itself. All western babies do not become boxers and all indian babies do not

become yogis. One may end up being a yogi or not, but one has to survive first.

The neo-natal mortality in India is low in higher socio-economic groups, where

proper care of the mother and the baby is taken, and still very high where it is

not. The baby weights in India's higher socio-economic groups is comparable to

the West, and so is the C-Section rate. The C-Section rate is also higher in the

group that is adequately informed prior to delivery, as no body is willing to

take a chance with the life of either the mother or the baby, when confronted

with fetal distress.
