I am in my 3rd month of my pregnancy and I just had a very bad

infection of my sinuses and a very bad cold. Like Todd had mentioned

I guess it is the hormones, it just took forever for me to feel

better.

What Chawanprash do you vaidyas suggest for a healthy immune

system that is available right here in the US. Basically I am from India , but I

do not think I have anybody that can get it for me right now.

I also tend to suffer from fatigue, scaitica, pelvic pain during

pregnancy. Is there anything that I could take right now to avoid

getting it.

Thanks

DP

Hi DP,

There must be a lot of imports into the US of Chaywanprash

formulations from India. Avoid any with added bhasmas, especially if

you are pregnant. I believe that one of the best CPs you can find in

the US is the one which is imported and distributed by NIAM in NY.

It is the rarely available authentic Charak Samhita recipe and it is

made by a family pharmacy in Uttar Pradesh which have this as their

speciality for generations.

The rejuvenation effects of this CP is really potent, one of the

best I have used. I have tested CP's from many famous pharmacies

over the years, big and small. Please consult with a qualified

vaidya for the other issues.

Ys, Ole

Dear Mayappuslaya,

Chyavanprash in pregnancy is very safe.

It is a rejuvenating medicine which is not contraindicated to anybody.

In first triminster of pregnancy there are hormonal changes & hypoglycemia.

It gives symptoms like fatigue, back pain, lethary etc.

For good immunity chyavanprash will help but to give strenth to uterus also take

some uterine tonic like kantiprabha vati which is made especially made for the

same purpose.

You can take this throughout the antinatal period.

We usually send this KIT to our US based patients by courier.

Feel free to talk me anytime.

Regards

Nikhil

Chyavanprash in the US. I think if some enterprising businessman gets

on this group and goes through the messages he will surely see a

business opurtunity of making millions by selling assured good

quality (????) chyavanprash in the US of A.

Dear DP,

You could go through the links section where I have listed some

ayurvedic companies who sell over the internet. It would be better if

you get in contact with some of the US members of the group who could

guide you better. Having said that chyavanprash is not always

recommended in pregnancy, especially if you are of pitta prakruti.

The symptoms you have mentioned are related with pregnancy and over

here we prefer using shatavari kalpa as a part of pre-pregnancy

regimen. Also regular massage with medicated or sesame oil over the

abdomen and back will help relieve the pelvic pain.

Chyavanprash in original without bhasmas and metals is

available with all major ayurveda companies in Kerala.

There they use only herbs and natural medicines. Try

Kottackal Arya Vaidyasala or Nagarjuna Pharma

Thodupuzha or Kerala Ayurveda Pharmacy Ltd athani

Aluva.
