my heart goes to all those affected by the devastating tsunami

i have spent many hours walking along the beaches of Tamil Nadu and Sri

Lanka, playing cricket with the young children at the beaches in

Madras, watching the fishermen pull in their nets

i was shocked and disheartened to learn of the devastating effects of

this awe-inspiring disaster

we have taken up a fund at work to donate to oxfam, but this is but a

drop in the bucket

nonetheless i encourage all of you not affected to give generously

i am reminded of the poet tukuram, whose entire family was taken from

him in a flood

when a disaster like this happens, tukuram wrote, "be sure that god is

with you"
