Guest guest
a report published in the Lancet in 1997 clearly established that doctor-prescribed medications were the #3 killer of Americans, something that all of us have known simply by observing the health of our patients interestingly enough, this study only examined in-patients, not those that suffered fatal adverse effects outside the hospital setting as a result, the actual numbers of deaths may be much, much higher time and again i have seen the ravages of western medicine - its frustrating and disheartening, and i have made it my personal mission to educate and empower people to take care of their own health ***nonetheless, i find it logically inconsistent to defend potentially harmful practices just because they aren't as bad as the alternative as a herbalist and ayurvedic practitioner, as a son of this earth, it is my dharma to defend the health of patients everywhere, to spread the GOOD news of pure, unadulterated natural medicines that have been used since the dawn of time, that indeed, were given to us by the grace of the Almighty and the affection of our Mother in my tradition we question the use of heavy metals for healing because we have a well-established history of recording their deleterious effects the system of herbal medicine that arose in north america in colonial populations did so in response to the ubiquitous use of poisonous heavy metals such as mercury and arsenic yes ayurvedic medicine has been using metals for much longer, and have even developed some interesting techniques that are supposedly supposed to make them less toxic - this is the assertion - but i am personally very wary of them because based on what i know i cannot in good faith recommend them to my patients when i myself would never take them or give them to my children i believe that consuming heavy metals is unnatural i believe it to be a distortion of living in balance with the environment, the way the acharyas intended us to live i believe that minerals are largely meant to obtained in our food, in the living tissues of plants and animals, and not from rocks and yet all things can be medicine, and based on this, i remain open-minded that even the most toxic substance can be a healing agent, when used with supreme wisdom - unfortunately our technological prowess as humans far outweighs the development of such untainted insight while i claim some wisdom, its not of the order that allows me to play god with people's lives simply to satisfy my pride Caldecott todd www.toddcaldecott.com
