hi merevita

as you might be able to tell from the abstracts i sent, the activity of

grapefruit seed extract (GSE) is unrelated to the grapefruit seed

themselves, and is entirely related to the synthetic preservatives

contained within it----

Why preservatives if the seed are sed to have a spontaneus fermentation?

most GSE products on the market contain a patented product call

citracidal, and because it is patented they do not disclose how its

made or its ingredients: they simply say citracidal ®, a proprietary

grapefruit seed extract, with water and/or glycerin----

But citracidal have to be declared! If only glycerin is mentionned, citracidal

can to be contained too?

if in fact the product does not contain the patented citracidal ®

ingredient found in GSE such as nutrabiotic , then it probably does

not contain these preservatives.

All the products that have been controlled and discovered negative had declared

R?

but then i am very sorry to say that the product has NO antimicrobial

activity whatsoever, and is manufactured by people that simply don't

understand the basic science, as is often the case in this industry

Do you say about THE PROPERTIES OF THE SEED?

A friend of mine and his family use the extract from a long time and he asks why

it has a positive effect also on the viral desease as influenza if the

presevatives contained are antibacterial and not antiviral.

Ayurveda has used various Citrus species for thousands of years, and

yet i am not aware of one single reference to the usage of the seed as

an antimicrobial agent in infectious disease.

I don't know what has worked in my case.

-I took grape fruit extract for almost a week, -a little lemon essential oil ,

much diluted with sesam black oil, only one or two drops in the mouth for

massage or from nostrils.

-BN phitoplus--- enzymatic complex

The bad smell between the two separated roots seems to be desappered.

Sometimes i feel a little pruritus in the roots, i don't know what it is.

Now i have stopped with the grapefruit and i continue with BN phitoplus, i have

started ALSO TWO times in a week the injection of omeopatic nosode granuloma

dentis injeel

For the use of the essential oil i would your opinion, about an

exchange with Martha

Dr. Gary Young would be injecting essential oils of strong antibiotic nature

(clove, helichrysum, et) to get at the root (Idaho, USA clinic)

injection in the gums of essential oil ? i know that they must be diluted not

to use pur, they irritate the mucosa and can be very dangerous sed docteur

Masson --in his book -folie et sagesse des medecines naturelles--- Then also in

the topicall use we must do attention.

Yes, it is because the quality is also such a big importance, and access to

therapeutic grade essential oils is limited. I am not recommending you attempt!

It is not matter of the quality but the essential oil itself woud be like a fire

if used pur. Doctor Masson sed that many times he met people that have

developed ulcera because they have assumed the oil with water or honey or sugar.

This ingredients don't created dilution of the essential oil thet will irritate

too much the mucosa.

Thanks

thats what the company says

they say benzethonium chloride is a natural product derived flavonoids

but nobody except them believes it

because the claim is that citracidal is just grapefruit seed, albeit having

undergone

fairly extensive processing in a lab

the seed has no antimicrobial activity - this was clearly elucidated in one of

the

studies i forwarded

nobody denies that antibiotics work - they are even used for viral diseases such

as

colds and flu - in fact this how they are most often (mis)used

people that take them in this way may get better fairly quickly because there is

often

a secondary bacterial component to viral infections that worsens the symptoms

most viral dz is self-limiting and people will improve after a couple of days of

doing

nothing except getting enough sleep, eating well, staying hydrated, etc. etc.

ask your friend how often he needs to use GSE, and how often they get sick

the people i see using GSE use it all the time because they have to, because

they

become just as dependent upon it as are people that take antibiotics all the

time

i know nothing of this procedure, but clove oil has been used in dentistry for a

long

time, as an analagesic and disinfectant, in sealants and other procedures

i have used essential oils (EOs) internally, usually non-toxic ones like fennel,

ginger,

dill and eucalyptus

some EOs however have potent drug-like activities, and are pretty distant in

terms of

medicinal property from their crude source

QC is important in EO distillation, and while i think Young-Living EOs are very

good

but they are also very expensive, and there are other manufactures that can

product a

similar product using time honored methods

but i use EOs minimally - i am a herbalist

i'm always suprised by the people that advocate the use of EOs, esp internally,

when

they have little or no training, thinking they are using something benign and

safe

when in reality some EOs can be quite toxic
