Hi!

My wife, who is heading Accenture's Knowledge Management division in

India, has secured admission to the off-campus "PhD in Management"

program, combinedly offered by Birla Institute of Science &

Technology (BITS, Pilani) and S P Jain Institute of Management &

Research (SPJIMR, Mumbai).

For her PhD thesis, she wishes to undertake research on how

Knowledge Management (KM) could help enhance competitiveness of the

Ayurveda industry.

KM, to put it in a nutshell, deals with capture/ creation, packaging

(eg translation from sanskrit), storage (eg databases, portals),

protection (eg copywrites) and effective deployment/ utilization of

knowledge.

I would welcome inputs towards identifying the areas where knowledge

management (KM) opportunities exist in the Ayurveda value chain, so

as to then undertake research on developing a KM solution for one of

them. I would also appreciate any thoughts you could provide on the

best research methodology and sources of information.
