Guest guest
Lately Ojas and a taboo topic for some people have been the discussion on this forum. Concerning this, there are ancient yogic scriptures that say that it takes 80 drops of food to make one drop of semen and 80 drops of semen to make one drop of ojas. Maybe the exact quantity will vary according to the person, environment, etc. but the idea is that it takes a lot of energy for the body to create ojas. My spiritual teacher said to do things in moderation. Some yogis were celebate to conserve their semen in order to have the maximum of ojas. I think that almost any vaidya and Western MD would say that one should not have sex when they are sick because it depletes the body. Everything we do has a consequence so we have to balance things to realize our goals and roles in life. There are many things sex does on other levels. It is not a matter of being moral or not. Many morals that people do have a real basis in life and many do not. Many of these whether or not they have any valid base have become codified in cultures and we call those morals. I have heard masters speak about sex and often there are reasons behind the morals ( and often times there are no reason ). I would write about some of those but this is an ayurvedic forum so this much has to do with Ayurveda. GB Khalsa
