Guest guest
Hi Vaidyas, I had a year earlier written to this group for a solution for bi-polar depression. My husband had been on allopathic medications for bi-polar depression for 4 yrs. ie from year 1999 to yr 2004. I had tried all possible methods to wean my husband from allopathic medications. His psychatrist had given him 4 tablets for each day - for depression, mood stabilizers and a dangerous tablet to knock him off to sleep. The medications were so bad that ,til my husband didnot take the sleeping pill he could not get sleep. The sleep pill knocked my husband to sleep for good 15 hours. It was extremely difficult for him to wake up in the morning. He used be all groggy in the morning due to the sleeping pill he had previous night. This made him very anxious during the day as he could not work with concentration. So to counter that, his psychatrist gave him mood stabilizer that would keep him awake during the day and also anti-depressant. Seeing my husband's condition, I used to end up with depression by end of the day. I even tried homeopathy for my husband. We simultaneouly tried homeopathic medications from 'Dr.Batra's homeopathic clinic'. This turned out to be a bigger fraud than expected. The kind of advertising Dr.Batra does in the newspapers made me get carried away with their treatment. Inspite of charging a hefty sum for the treatment, the doctors at Dr.Batras clinic never followed up nor did the medications ever have any effect . It was a total waste of money, time and energy with them. During 2003, I had contacted the ayurveda group and one of the members was extremely helpful. In one of his emails had talked about giving Godanti hartal with dates, Tulsi tea. It was extremely difficult for me to convince my husband to move to ayurveda as he was scared that if he stopped his allopathic medications he would not be able tp perform at work. After lot of convincing, he started taking the tulsi tea, godanti hartal bhasma and ashwaghanda . In June 2004, he finally started with the ayurveda suggestions. He was also taking his allopathic medications simultaneouly. After 20 days, I could find drastic change in my husband's mood behaviour. He could GO WITHOUT his morning mood change pill and anti depression pills . It took him around 40 days to come out of his allopathic sleeping pill addiction... By end of July 2004,my husband stopped taking all the allopathic medications his pychatrist had prescribed him. His pychatrist had told my husband that he cannot go off medications and he will have to take the medications life long.. My husband has been totally off allopathic medications for last 4 months and he is ABSOLUTELY fine. His is extremely happy the way things are right now. His sleep is normal . He infact wakes up at 6:00am in morning everyday( when on allopathic medication he used to wake up at 3pm) I'm extremely thankful to all members of this group for all your valuable inputs on depression. Thank you very very much Sarika
